Vancouver, BC — University Canada West (UCW) is pleased to announce that the British Columbia Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills has renewed its consent for UCW to operate as a university for another five years. This renewal is a testament to UCW’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality post-secondary education in British Columbia.
In addition to the university status renewal, UCW has also received renewals for its degree programs. The Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) and Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication (BABC) programs have been granted a three-year renewal, while the Associate of Arts program has been renewed for two years. These extensions affirm the quality and relevance of UCW’s undergraduate offerings.
However, the consent for UCW’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) program has been extended for one year only. As a result, UCW will pause accepting applications for the MBA program starting in the Spring 2025 term. The university is actively working with the Ministry to secure a multi-year renewal for the MBA program and will keep prospective students updated on the status. Current MBA students and those with a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) issued before July 30, 2024, who do not need a new LOA, will not be affected by this pause.
Applications for the Winter 2025 term MBA program remain open, and UCW will continue to accept applications for its undergraduate and Associate of Arts programs without interruption.
